Creative office space over independent food and fashion focused retail
The “Garage” building is the coming together of the 1930 Nagle Brothers Garage, and 1890 Cordage Building, a former home of rope manufacturer “Canada Cordage Co”. Together they form the centre piece of the multiphase historic urban redevelopment undertaken by the Salient Group 2006-2010. As part of the redevelopment, an addition to the buildings included stratified live-work spaces, and the original Garage and Cordage buildings were restored to create spectacular creative office and retail spaces, fronting Water Street, Blood Alley, and the Gaoler’s Mews courtyard.
The Garage redevelopment received multiple real estate and development industry awards including, as part of Salient’s 3-phase redevelopment in Gastown, the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal in Architecture. The Garage is now home to some of Vancouver’s best independent fashion retailers, café, and restaurant. Tenants include:
